Meet our talented doctors and staff!
Dr. Houston started The Pet Hospital in 1992 as a place to provide the best veterinary care for pets and their owners in a great environment.
He graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He earned his master’s degree in biology from the University of New Mexico and a teaching certificate from the University of Texas in Austin.
Prior to becoming a vet, Dr. Houston taught science for several years for middle school, high school, and college.
As the son of a geophysicist, he has lived all over the world, including Singapore, England, and more states than he can remember.
In his spare time, Dr. Houston enjoys adventure runs around the world, hiking, camping, and being outdoors with his dog Petey.
Dr. Dowd earned her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis in 1989. She earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
As the daughter of a naval officer, she lived in Florida, Virginia, and California.
Dr. Dowd knew at age five that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She is passionate about helping animals and humans, so she enjoys volunteering at endurance events as RaceGuards (first responders on course during endurance events).
In her free time, she enjoys running, with and without her two Standard Poodles Clifford and Walter. She also loves yoga, paddle boarding, baking, and decorating cakes.
Dr. Morgan was born and raised in Colorado. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Oberlin College. Her love of all creatures great and small took her overseas, and she graduated from the University of Glasgow’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland in 2010. Following graduation, she worked in Maun, Botswana for the Worldwide Veterinary Service, a charitable organization providing veterinary teams and sustainable veterinary resources to impoverished areas and animals greatly in need. She, then, worked for two years in a small animal practice on the east coast of England near Canterbury, followed by several years in American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited practices in Greeley, Colorado, and Pismo Beach, California. In 2018-2019, she completed a specialty degree at Massy University, New Zealand, in epidemiology. She has a special interest in exotics, wildlife, and canine and feline geriatric medicine. As a contributing photographer for the World Wildlife Fund, she combined her passion for both photography and wildlife conservation. In her spare time, Dr. Morgan enjoys skiing, freediving, surfing, and ultramarathon running, as well as the excellent company of her English rescue cat, Jelly Tots.
