As the daughter of an old school veterinarian (who sadly lives across the country), it’s always very hard for me to find a new vet who lives up to my standards. I’m so thankful that The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta was suggested to me by a colleague and that our pets ended up in the hands of Dr. Houston. I can’t recommend him and the rest of the staff enough!! Their patience, knowledge and professionalism + the experience of Dr. Houston should make anyone feel comfortable. While you can’t put a price on good health care, their pricing is very fair.

The staff is extremely friendly and loving. They treated my pet with the best care. My dog had an eye ulcer which was not healing, they tried different ways to heal him. They did a lot of research and were very proactive on finding ways to make his eye better. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends.

The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta has always provided a safe and comfortable experience for five different pets over the last 18 years. Everyone is friendly and you can tell they really care about the animals. Their pricing is reasonable and they always explain available options prior to me making a decision. After each appointment, they follow up to make sure my cats are doing well. Dr. Houston is a great vet, and I’ve had positive experiences with the other vets when Dr. Houston wasn’t available. I highly recommend them.

I had a wonderful experience speaking with the front desk to set up a potential appointment. I have called around many hospitals and the majority had been busy, lack patience and did not want to answer my questions. Angela took the time to break down costs, answer all of my questions about vaccines and what the protocol was (Some hospitals were still anti-owner inside). 5 stars for customer service!

Used to go to a vet in Clairemont/Kearny Mesa that barely had appointments and staff was a bit off-putting. This place scheduled me within 2 days of calling. Such a friendly staff that were engaging even beyond the pet relationship. This will be our new spot.

This is the very best place to bring a dog. Dr. Dowd and staff are caring, comforting and kind. I wouldn’t dream of going some place else. All care that is given is done professionally and fully explained along with options that you may have available.
